Research Company MCA, Inc. Takes a Council Seat

The research/implementation firm MCA Inc., headquartered in Flint, Michigan, has contributed $100,000 to ELECTRI International, joining the ELECTRI Council at the Founder level. The firm’s President/CEO, Dr. Perry Daneshgari, is well-known to the electrical construction community. Over the past 20 years, MCA has worked closely with the Foundation on a variety of critical productivity research projects. Through MCA’s work with ELECTRI, the construction industry now has an ASTM-approved construction productivity measurement standard.

ELECTRI Partner Creates Exciting Challenge

Graybar – a Founder-level member of the ELECTRI Council -- and 12 of its manufacturer suppliers have set up a matching gift program to benefit ELECTRI International. Throughout 2010, a portion of every sale for participating manufacturers’ products will be earmarked as a direct contribution to ELECTRI International Graybar is doing all of the administrative work to keep track of qualifying purchases throughout 2010.

NECA Chapters Receive 2010 Wendt Awards

For the members of several NECA Chapters, this year will most definitely include funds for educational programming. Nineteen individual chapters and the Ohio Conference comprised of several regional Chapters will each receive a $1,000 Wendt Scholarship Award to host an educational program for their contractor members. Chapters can apply the awards through NECA’s Management Education Institute (MEI). Several MEI seminars were developed from ELECTRI research projects. The annual awards are granted through ELECTRI International’s Education Center, established with a major gift from Al and Margaret Wendt (Cannon & Wendt, Phoenix). The 2010 award winners include:

Register Now for the July ELECTRI Council Meeting

The ELECTRI Council will meet on Tuesday, July 27 and Wednesday, July 28 at the Chicago Mid-America Club and the Fairmont Chicago Hotel. During this meeting Council members review projects that were recently funded and offer initial guidance to investigators leading the research. This meeting serves as the first Task Force meeting with these researchers and the advice and 'real world' experiences from Council members can be critical to the success of these projects.
